Final word

  • This app does not predict earthquakes. There is no technology that can do this in our time.
  • If you are near the epicenter, it is almost impossible to receive an alert before the earthquake wave reaches your location. Here are examples for comparison:
    • Distance from epicenter: 43.2 km
    • Magnitude: 7.0
    • Earthquake wave: In 14 seconds

      * We only have a 14-second window to prepare before the first earthquake wave hits.

    • Distance from epicenter: 15.4 km
    • Magnitude: 7.0
    • Earthquake wave: In 5 seconds

      * Barring all Internet connection issues, you may receive an alert on or before that 5-second window.
